The call of the curlew is the British countryside’s most iconic sound

But with their numbers plummeting and half of Britain’s breeding curlews already gone, their call may be about to fall silent

Wynford Jones, a retired Welsh farmer, is determined to not let the song he grew up with disappear without a fight. By working with ambitious conservationists, Wynford is on a mission to help his one remaining pair of curlews raise some young.

Set in the stunning Welsh Marches and featuring never before filmed animal behaviour, follow Wynford and his curlew family on a dramatic journey through the breeding season.

With the modern countryside so full of dangers, will Wynford see his chicks fly?

A short film produced, filmed and edited by Billy Clapham.
