A member's daughter from Norfolk decided to make good use of her Halloween pumpkins by recycling them into bird feeders!

Wedged firmly into the forks of a tree, the pumpkin was filled with mixed seed and a fat ball, and then it was a waiting game to see if the birds would approve, which they did!

Blue tits, great tits, coal tits, a long tailed tit and a blackbird all enjoyed the tasty treats on offer.

Our member managed to get photos of two of the birds and sent them to us at the SBS office to show the birds making use of the temporary feeder - it just shows what can be done with a little creative thinking!

What a great use for leftover pumpkins after Halloween - next year why not do the same in your garden and send us the photos!
