Birds in Flight

Starling in motion - Adrian Clarke

"One of my favourite birds to photograph, the starling has so many amazing colours & mannerisms. I enjoy attempting to catch the motion of flight by shooting against a black pop up background in the garden & using slow shutter speeds & rear curtain flash, giving both the motion blur of the wings contrasting against sharp areas of the bird."

Birds in Flight Runner Up
Goldfinches - Royston Packer

"Goldfinches in dispute over feeding rights.
Noticed the action and decided to try and capture it.  After many attempts managed this one shot."

"We have quite a few greenfinches that visit our garden.

Starlings - Adrian Clarke

"Hands down my favourite time of the year is when the juvenile starlings appear, first it starts with one or two awkwardly exploring their new surroundings, but soon it seems like hundreds descend, bringing their own special brand of chaos to the garden."

"I got my camera for my birthday during March 2020 lockdown.

I love Long tail tits they seem full of character.
I was so happy to get this photo of a  long tail tit taken at Cromwell Bottom Nature Reserve.
I haven't changed the photo in any way.
