More than half of our UK songbirds are threatened or already in decline

SongBird Survival is working to change the future of songbirds by funding research into the causes of the decline, and creating solutions.

Birds are essential to our ecosystem, and our own survival. We are destroying the natural world at an unprecedented rate and songbirds cannot evolve quickly enough to adapt and survive.

THE SONGBIRD SURVIVAL GARDEN

Celebrating our 25th anniversary with a special garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025

The SongBird Survival Garden will focus on the three key elements of food, shelter and water, that are vital in supporting bird life.

Our garden has been designed by award winning garden designer Nicola Oakey and supported by Project Giving Back.

It will shine a spotlight on the plight of our nation’s songbirds and aims to inspire the next generation of songbird champions.

Saving Songbirds With Science

SongBird Survival believes that the evidence base that informs UK policy is inadequate or lacking, and more needs to be done to identify the real drivers behind continued songbird declines.

We commission and fund high-quality scientific research to fill in these evidence gaps.
