An academic at a leading UK university, Julia researches and teaches bird ecology and evolution. Her research focuses on how bird traits – from behaviour over to physiology – affect reproduction and survival, and with that, the viability and persistence of populations.
In addition, Julia spends some of her time working on expedition cruises, engaging guests to participate in citizen science activities, data collection, and participate with conservation work. She is keen to help us communicate ornithological science to various audiences and use her diverse knowledge and expertise to contribute to our board’s decision making, while working towards making our world a better place.
