What is the Ruby Robin award?

The Ruby Robin award is a challenge for children aged 5 to 11 years old to learn about birds and encourage them to take positive action for nature.

Who is it for?

The award is aimed at children aged 5 to 11 but we do welcome participants from all ages who want to be inspired by songbirds.

When does it take place?

You can sign up to take part anytime in November and December but need to complete your award challenges before 31st December 2023. All challenges can be done where you want and when you want.

How many activities do I have to do ?

To win the award you need to do one activity from each of our four challenge areas; a craft, a learning activity, bird spot, and a fun task.

We have provided a range of ideas and easy to use downloads and resources but would be really happy if you came up with your own ideas as well you just need to tell us or show us what you did when you claim your award.

What are the activities?

The resources can be downloaded from the website. We will also e-mail you with links to these when you sign up.

What is the Ruby Robin award?

What do I get when I've completed the award?

After you have claimed your award we will send you a certificate and a Ruby Robin badge as a reward for successful completion. These will be sent to you in January 2024. (We will send them to all award winners at the same time once the challenge ends, so don't worry if it doesn't arrive straight after you send in your claim.)

How do I claim the award?

This is not a free giveaway. The Ruby Robin award is about educating young people with ways they can help save birds and learn about other wildlife. Evidence of the challenges completed will be required. We reserve the right to refuse any claim which has not been made in the spirit of the charitable and educational aim of the award.

My Award hasn't arrived what should I do?

All awards will be mailed out in the middle of January. If you have not received yours by the end of January 2024  please get in touch with our supporter care team by emailing [email protected]

How can I make a donation?

If you have raised some funds as part of your challenge or would like to make a donation, simply go online to our website and follow the links to the make a donation page. Let us know you have done this when you claim your award.
